About Niko

Adoption Fee: $263.75
Siberian Husky / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Dog Compatibility = medium to large high energy Children Compatibility = 12 years or older Calling all husky enthusiasts who adore the charms and independent spirit of this wonderful breed. Niko is a 46-pound bundle of joy and a spectacular mix of Siberian Husky and Australian Cattle Dog so he is looking for an active family that will appreciate his abundance of energy. He is good with medium to large dogs who match his high energy play style. Small dogs and cats are too much fun to torment because of his strong prey drive. He is amazingly alert when out and about, looking for any squirrel, chipmunk or bird to chase. He will need daily exercise, training and discipline to help him excel. Any children in his new home should be 12 years or older so they can participate in his training; he can also be mouthy sometimes and younger children may not understand that. Niko is good with all types of handling and when you scratch his bum he loves it so much he can get a tad overstimulated; perhaps it can be used as an opportunity to practice settling and staying calm. Niko is looking for a family with calm, assertive leaders who will help him stay relaxed while walking and practice walking nicely on a leash. He would also benefit from having a job; something to keep him busy and build his confidence. Niko has an incredible athletic build with lots of stamina so he would excel at pulling a sled or cart, hiking with a backpack or participating in activities where he can turn on the afterburners and run at full speed. Niko is very smart and would also enjoy opportunities to give his beautiful brain a workout such as participating in obedience, learning new tricks or practicing focus exercises. He could have a tendency to be naughty when bored so lots of daily exercise and mentally challenging toys will be important. Niko is gorgeous, a free-spirit and playful; he will be a terrific and devoted companion for the right family. Check this bubbly and electrifying character out at WCHS and let him dazzle you; your life together could be brilliant.
