About Rocky

This is 14 year old Rocky! He's a good looking 10-12 pound Dachshund who came to us from a shelter. He has good energy and definitely doesn't look or act his age!Rocky is a very sweet, lovable boy who loves to be in a lap and get hugs and kisses! He enjoys attention from his person and he'll whine and give you a nudge when you stop petting him. Rocky loves his blankets and has to arrange them just right for sleeping and nap time. That includes a lot of tossing it around until he can curl up under it. He appears to be housebroken and comes to the door and barks when he wants back inside.He does like to be outside for short periods of time and will lay in the sun or root for a lizard till he's ready to come in. Rocky does fine with the other dogs, but doesn't really interact with them much. He would fine as an only dog getting all the pets from his person. He doesn't really pay any attention to the cat in his foster home and has not been tested with children. Based on his age he should not go to a home with younger children but older kids (12 and up?) would probably be fine with Rocky! He is a pretty laid back guy who likes to go for walks and will pick up a toy occassionally, but he doesn't really care about them. He would rather be in your lap! He is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. He does need a dental and we are taking care of that for him. Rocky is a cuddle bug looking for the right person to love. If that's you please submit an adoption application to meet him!
