He's tall, dark, & oh so #Handsome- Everyone meet #Donnie. He's 3 years old, 80 lbs & a #Doberman. Donnie is just a big dork who loves attention & all he wants in life is to make you smile. Donnie is good with other submissive dogs (No Dominant Dogs, as he take on the role as Alpha), great with cats & phenomenal with older kids over the age of 10 years old (No Exceptions). Don is 100% potty trained, 100% crate trained & great on a leash. Please do your research on the breed as they are very protective of their families. Donnie is completely submissive when it comes to people, but can be dominant when it comes to playtime with other dogs. He can also be jealous at times when the attention isn't on him. What can we say.... He's just a handsome boy who loves love! Donnie is fully trained, knows all of his basic commands & is very eager to please. Donnie and his foster have also currently been working on off leash training. Anyone who adopts this lover boy will be the luckiest family in the world. Oh did we tell you that Donnie just loves car rides? He's always ready and has all paws on deck for playtime or for his next adventure. Donnie is currently up for adoption through Lending A Helping Paw Dog Rescue. Our adoption fee is $350 and will include his distemper, rabies, bordetella, parvo, and lepto vaccines; deworming, microchip, heartworm test, and being fixed. Donnie is heartworm negative and is currently on heartworm prevention, as well as flea & tick preventative. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: No Exceptions - Breed Experience Preferred, Please Do Your Research On The Breed - No Apartments - Fenced in yard is Required (An Invincible Fence is NOT Acceptable) - No Kids Under 10 Years Old - Training: His adopter must attend a minimum of 1 series of ONLY 'Force Free Training Courses.' Our training partners over at K9 Turbo Training have offered all of our adopters discounted rates. Training the dog yourself will not be acceptable. - We kindly ask that you please wait to ask any questions until the phone interview. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST & FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS With the Covid-19 Pandemic going on we are still doing adoptions, but please remember that we are all volunteers and safety comes first. All prospective adopters must live within the state of Michigan. Please remember we are not a shelter and are 100% foster based. Once you submit your application, it may take up to 2 weeks for us to get back to you. So please be patient with us. Again, we kindly ask that you please read the entire post to answer your questions. If you cannot follow the instructions properly, we will skip your application or request and move onto the next one. We kindly ask that you save any questions, comments or concerns for the phone interview. We kindly ask the following: No phone calls, No pm's, & No multiple emails- We are all volunteers and promise to get back to you within a timely fashion! Lending A Helping Paw Dog Rescue; previously known as the PRO-PET-OTIC Foundation, is a 100% Foster-Based Rescue that is ran by all Volunteers. Which means that we are not a shelter & each animal is in an actual home with a foster family. We kindly ask that you put any questions within the email & our team of Volunteers will get back to you. With the overwhelming amount of emails please be patient with our 100% volunteer family and we will get back to you. The application MUST BE filled out, a Vet Check MUST BE completed by our team, as well as a phone interview before we do a 'Meet N Greet.' You must be 21 years old to apply. Vet Checks: When adopting through our rescue, we 'ALWAYS' do a vet check on each applicant's pets that they have owned over the past 10 years. Please make sure to call your vet to grant them permission to release this information to our rescue. That being said, all of the animals in each applicant's home must be UTD on all of their vaccines (DHLPP & Rabies), an UTD Heartworm Test, & currently on both Flea & Tick, as well as Heartworm Prevention. So please make sure that when you are applying that all of your current animals go to the vet that is listed. How To Apply: If you're interested in adopting one of our available dogs: 1. Once you have completed the application, please print it out, fill it out, scan it, & then email it back to [email protected]. 3. Please make sure to call your vet to grant our organization permission to do a vet check on your current pet. 4. Please be honest & truthful on your application. We always do a 'Vet Check.' We always do a 'Home Visit.' And we always have both the prospective families & dogs best interest at heart!
