Doris is 10-years young and has earned the nickname Deaf Doris in her foster home because of her hearing impairment. She is 100% deaf, and is working on hand signal training. Likely due to her hearing loss, it can take her a while to settle in a new place, so will thrive with consistency and predictability. She loves being sweet and gentle with the people she loves. In fact, she's loved every person she has met. Doris is outwardly sweet in temperament. She loves grooming the cats in her foster home and enjoys playing with compatible pups, or just following them around. She fetches like a champ and will drop the ball right into your hand to fetch again. Doris loves to be close, and it is obvious how much love she has to give. We think she would be happiest in a home where her family spent much of their time at home with a set routine to nurture this bond, even after the pandemic. Doris is a darling senior pitizen! She is spry for her age and loves to walk leisurely. She will bay like a hound dog out of pure joy and excitement when she sees the leash for her daily walks. Based on her physical condition, it is obvious Doris didn't have the best medical care in her life. She has been medically cleared, after being spayed and having some lumps and bumps removed (all good news). She also has some environmental allergies and a touch of arthritis that is being managed with medication. Doris is a Golden Girl in her golden years and deserves a warm and loving place to call home.
