About Petey

Look at 'em ears! This is Petey, our Chihuahua mix! He is still waiting for his forever home. He needs a couple or a single person who is willing to give Petey patience, time and space he needs to feel safe and comfortable and for him to come to them in his timing and his terms. At least until Petey knows he is safe and loved. He will however, jump in your lap when he's ready, and allow you to pet him. And once the time has passed and he feels safe, he will lay on the couch or in bed with you, and get love and affection from you. He does great with other dogs. No children, please. He'd love to go to a forever family who has a home or townhome with a backyard as he enjoys leisure activities in the backyard too much. Petey LOVES chasing butterflies and moths ... and he loves basking in the sun!! He also likes to put himself to bed every night. He'll jump up in his foster's bed, and nuzzle his head to lift the comforter, and then crawl underneath it and burrow himself and go to sleep. She said it's the cutest thing ever. In addition, Petey is a vocal boy. He gets pretty intense about it, but it's just something cute and silly he does.
