Meet Jeb! He is the sweetest guy with an interesting history! Jeb is approximately 4-5 years old and weighs 12 pounds. He is a handsome Chiweenie who was living his life on the streets. A very nice lady worked on building his trust so she could get him and a furry friend to safety. It took her weeks to catch them, but she did it! Almost as soon as she brought him to us he decided his wandering ways were more to his liking, found a small weak spot in the fence, and promptly dug out. We searched for 5 days until he casually strolled up to a lady walking her dog one morning and let her bring him inside where he enjoyed a meal and a bath before we collected him! But that wasn't quite the end of Jeb's adventures! The very next day he found another spot and dug out again! This time he only made it to the very next house on the street before being recaptured. His Foster family put him on lock down and did a thorough check of the fence to be sure there were absolutely no spots he could possibly get out a third time, and Jeb settled in at last. Now he has apparently decided that being domesticated is not bad at all! He is a very friendly dog who loves everyone! He is a sweet snuggle bug who loves to sleep in the big bed. He also loves his chair in the living room and can be found there most days, just chilling. We are sure he had a rough life, but he is very smart. He uses the doggy door and, other than marking when there is a new dog introduced to the home, he seems to be house trained already. Jeb gets along with all of the dogs he has met so far, big and small. He hasn't been cat tested, and he is great with older kids. He is not a high energy dog, but as he gets more and more comfortable in his new lifestyle we think we will see his personality come out more! He does require a very secure fenced in yard or someone who will walk him on a leash, due to prior ways. He has a fantastic temperament and we think he would be a great in almost any home, even as an apartment dog. Jeb is up to date on shots, heartworm negative and microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter is scheduled soon and is covered by the rescue as long as it is done at our vet. This boy is ready to meet his furever family! Please submit an adoption application and come meet him.
