About Jeb

This sweet bundle of fun and love is Jeb! He is a 5 year old, 12 pound Chiweenie who was living his life on the streets before he came to rescue. A very nice lady worked on building his trust so she could get him and a furry friend to safety. It took her weeks to catch them, but she did it and we are happy to have him! Jeb really is the sweetest guy! He is a very friendly and sweet snuggle bug who loves to sleep in the big bed. He makes the cutest little grunting noises when he's cuddled! We don't know what might have happened before he came to us, but he warms up to women more than men, although he is fine with his foster dad. He might growl a bit at them at first but then he wags his tail and wants to be petted. We have come to learn that Jeb is very in tune with his person. When they are stressed or upset he feels that and he wants to make sure they are ok. He can be protective of you, but this is not a bad thing. It's just a matter or reassuring him that you're ok. We are sure he had a rough life on the streets, but he is very smart and that would explain how he made it out there on his own. He knows how to use a doggy door and is mostly housebroken. Like most dogs he may mark in a new home with another male, but that is something that can be worked with. He understands 'no' and usually responds immediately. Jeb is also very food motivated! He loves his food! Jeb gets along with other dogs and we are looking for a home with another dog. A playful furbuddy his size would make him very happy! Jeb gets along with all of the dogs he has met so far, big and small. He is cat curious, but not aggressive. He's really more interested in their food than the actual cat. We think a home without kids is best. He is not a high energy dog, but as he gets more comfortable in his new home his playful personality will come out! He really loves playing other dogs and his people and he plays with everything he has! He runs like a mad man and jumps in his foster mom's arms over and over. He can sometimes play bite and his foster mom is working with him on that. Jeb had a couple of escapes when he first came to rescue. Once he settled in he was fine, but as a precaution he does require a very secure fenced in yard or someone who will walk him on a leash. He has a fantastic temperament and we think he would be a great in almost any home, even as an apartment dog. Jeb is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. He will be a great companion dog for a lucky person!
