About Roscoe

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I post this. But our family needs to say goodbye to our sweet Roscoe and hope there is a better fit for him out there for his needs. He will be 2 in September and we know both of his parents and picked him out when he was only days old. He joined our family when he was 6 weeks old and had been incredible with all 4 of our children as well as our small dog and our 3 cats. An unfortunate event with a dog that jumped a fence and completely blindsided him in his own yard changed him. Roscoe no longer does well with other dogs and pesters the cats at any chance he can get. He's also starting to exhibit some behaviors towards the younger kids that we just can't take the risk if it were to go south. Roscoe will be beyond dedicated and loving to his owner. But we feel he would do best in a family with older owners or a home with no children. We also think he should be the only pet. We have tried to slowly socialize him around other dogs and every encounter seems to be getting worse. He's also a runner and needs either a completely fenced in yard or a home with property he can run on. He is an incredibly smart dog and knows all of his basic commands and is very treat driven. He is somewhat crate trained but usually just sleeps at our feet or with the kids. With our busy lifestyle and hectic household we are just not the right fit for him any longer. As I mentioned he will be 2 in September. He is a Cathoula Leopard dog/Redbone Hound mix. He is up to date on all his shots and has not been neutered. We are asking a rehoming fee of $100 with an emphasis less on finances and more on finding the right fit for him.
