About RILEY

MEET Riley, a sweet, shy, somewhat fearful 6 year old, 20lb Maltese mix ready to find a loving home with a guardian experienced with small breeds, especially one with anxiety based reactivity. You see, in the past, Riley was put in some unsavory situations, causing him to learn to react in certain ways to protect himself. His current foster family has been working with him, and helping him to learn to trust humans again as well as new responses. They share the following: 'Riley is a generally quiet, some what active pup and likes friendly dogs of like size and who respect his boundaries. He's doesn't like sharing his food or toys. He loves car rides, early morning walks, and playing with toys. Watching him play and throw his toys is amusing and entertaining. He is housebroken, crate-trained (x-pen) and walks nicely on a leash. He's a happy, playful cuddle boy when in the safety of a loving home. He does become anxious around new situations and people and needs proper reassurance and time to acclimate. Be mindful that he doesn't like anyone grabbing his collar, messing with his nails, etc. He loves loves loves being petted and pampered... Riley is extremely loving when he learns to trust you.' Again Riley's primary guardian(s) should be familiar with small breed with anxiety based reactivity, so they may continue to help him realize life is good when you spend it with those who love you. Riley will not be placed in homes with children. Riley deserves the right family to help him live his best life possible. Maybe that's you? RILEY is nuetered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. His adoption fee is $425.00. Please note that training is highly recommended for all young dogs.
