SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA Hi, my name is MURPHY ID#A4416922. I am a neutered male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old, and I have been at the shelter since May 11, 2020. Awhile back Murphy got adopted, and we were so proud of Him. But, a week after he got adopted Murphy came back because he growled at the boyfriend and the the dog over the girlfriend. Murphy's new parents were devastated; they brought him back because they did not think they had what it takes to help Murphy through it. Now Murphy is 'New Hope Only'. IS THERE A RESCUE THAT CAN HELP MURPHY? Murphy knows sit, shake, down, up, and high five, and is good on the lead. His first notes say he was nervous entering yard, and had some social interactions and coexisted. I do believe his second note says excited and invasive. I did a dog intro with a dog with him and he did well. Murphy can be a little timid at first, but warms up. He has a great personality and loves to learn. Here are notes made by staff about Murphy: 6/4/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT Murphy was affiliative with staff, but would stiffen at times; but allowed all handling and vx. Warmed up to staff, soft body wagging tail. walked well to kennel. 6/5/2020 EVALUATION Sitting quietly in the kennel; easy to leash and remove. Pulled some on the leash; aroused passing barking dogs. Quick entrance; aroused and invasive while greeting. Friendly with the yard lead; ignored most corrections from lead while interacting with the other dogs. Dominant and sexually motivated but remained social throughout time in the yard; took corrections well from the other dogs. 6/7/2020 ENRICHMENT Murphy was a little timid at first, but he warmed quickly. By our second meeting He was doing sit, down, up, shake, and high five. Murphy was already doing well on the leash and responding well. I took him out for many meet and greets and He always did well. He took treats gently and was responsive to the customers handling him, petting him, and walking him (both male and female). He also has had 2 other good dog intros.
