About MASHUKA

'MASHUKA' is a super cute, 1.5-2 yr old, 60 lbs. Labrador Retriever mix male that was surrendered to this rescue from another rescue due to their overcrowding, but he also suffered from neglect at the hands of the other rescue. When we received him into our rescue, Mashuka was filthy and had been living outside in a pen, 24/7. Sadly this neglect lead to Mashuka just testing heart worm positive due to the previous entity not providing him with adequate monthly heart worm and flea/tick preventative. Since being with our rescue, he has been bathed, received high quality nutrition with vitamin supplements, additional vaccinations, has begun his heart worm fast kill protocol regime, (on antibiotic and prednizone) and is on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives. Mashuka has been thriving! Mashuka is a happy-go-lucky, sweet, smart & fun boy. Eager to please and seems to always be smiling ! He is so dearly affectionate. Such a nice, nice boy ... and has been such a great and patient companion to high energy 'Lettie' (his buddy), enjoying playing with her and being so kind & patient with her puppy like antics! A lower energy, calm and quiet home would be ideal for Mashuka. Mashuka has never been cat-tested, and seems to do great with other dogs, especially females. Mashuka is neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
