Moxie is a 3.5-year old, 40-pound Plott Hound and Pit Bull mix located in Somersworth, NH. She's got a great personality as a happy, cuddly, and sweet dog. She recently had her annual vet appointment so now she's up-to-date on all of her shots and was declared very healthy! Moxie is spayed, house-trained, and crate-trained. She enjoys activity and loves to play fetch and chase outdoors. She also enjoys her pool in the hot weather! She'd love a nice family to play yard games with and has incredible endurance to go walking, jogging, and hiking in quiet areas. She also loves playtime with water and going to the shore. She would benefit from a fenced yard. Though dearly loved, Moxie needs a new home because she is best-suited for a family without young children. She has a history of resource guarding over her dog food and sometimes toys. She has nipped humans twice and she once bit a cat. This behavior is manageable if Moxie is left to eat in peace. She actually does great eating in her crate! Most important, Moxie is a wonderful and affectionate girl who loves being with her humans best of all. She's good with both men and women that she knows. She is also good around familiar children, but because she can be jumpy and excited, older teens 14+ are preferred. Moxie enjoys company, but like all dogs should be allowed to approach first. Moxie is working on some things that her new mom or dad should help her with, too. She pulls while walking on the leash and when a car or dog passes, it causes her to bark and get overexcited. Since Moxie is reactive to other canines, she should be the only dog in the home. She lives with cats, but her best scenario is a pet-free home and experienced family who can work with her to become her very best.
