Location: New Bedford, PA; Age: 1 year; Aldon has had a rough start. Spending the first year of life shoved in a crate too small to even stretch out. Never any good human interactions or socialization. Never touching grass or seeing outside the building he was kept in. This is life as a puppy mill dog. Now that he has been rescued the nightmare is not over. Now begins learning how to be a dog. Getting his legs to straighten from being cramped. How to trust a human touch without trembling in fear. After long months he will accept gentle strokes. Aldon has yet to become confident enough to venture outside. So puppy pads by the door are a must. Once he's sure you aren't looking he will potty then run back to his pen. Then will bark to inform you he has gone. He has finally come to the point he will chew on hard toys. Even one day being bold enough to a tear his bed apart! Aldon will need a family willing to go at his pace. That are laid back not loud as loud noises scare him. Along with sudden movements. Humans that can understand the world is terrifying. Being home alot would be great. He loves having another dog to buffer him from the world too. The vet feels with continued range of motion his legs will not need surgical intervention. A fenced yard would be a major plus because he could once ready to go out get scared and run.
