About Osha

Osha comes to us from a family that had way too many dogs, and needed help with them. She's been in her foster home for about a month now and we feel like she is ready to find herself a home to call her own. She is about 5-6 years old and weighs about 8-10 pounds and is full grown. She is a shy and fearful dog when first meeting her, and she will remain that way (more than likely) until she has had the time to adjust and settle. That must be on her timeline. We are asking her new family to be patient and kind during this process, just as her foster mom has. She will benefit from having another dog in her home, so we are looking for a home that has a dog. She is crate trained and does her potty outside. She loves spending time outside, just hanging out. She is an independent dog, but she likes knowing where her people are, and will seek them out. She's been great company to her foster mom while she works from home. She loves toys, and is playful with them, even by herself. She is self entertaining! She is SUPER food motivated, and that will help in her settling in. Especially if you give her....CHEESE! No kids please, we feel it will be best for her not to have to adjust to understanding a child's behavior. If you feel like you are the right family for our Osha, let us know!!! She still needs to be spayed and get her heartworm test, and possible booster on her shots. We will do this once she has settled in. It is necessary and important to give a dog time, understanding, patience and kindness while they are adjusting to their new lives. Time to decompress. It is up to us to teach them how to navigate our world, not punish them or be impatient with their timeline. The more time you give with NO expectations, the deeper and more loving your relationship will be with them. Time is the MOST important gift you can give to your dog. We are a FORCE FREE rescue. The adoption contract you will be signing specifically states that you agree to NEVER use any aversive methods nor tools like a shock, prong or choke collar. Please, consider everything when making a decision to adopt a dog. As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. You may need to come back to us to complete shots, spay or neuter, hw test. You will receive 6 mths of HW preventative.You will receive a free bag of premium dog food, as well as a gift card from Choice Pet Market if you live in one of the designated zip codes. We give you 4 training classes, this is MANDATORY and will be scheduled at a later date and place
