Hazel is a 8 month old, 55lb, Boxer/Terrier type mix that the shelter got in when reported as a bitecase. When we responded, we found that a 2 year old child went to open Hazel's crate and substained a minor injury on one of her fingers. We are unsure if it was actually a scratch or a bite, but we believe it was probably due to her being excited to get out of her kennel and was more than likely an accident. However, due to noone witnessing the actual incident, we cannot be 100% sure. What we can tell you is that in the time Hazel has been with us, we have seen no aggression whatsoever regarding people or dogs. Obviously, we do not have children running around the shelter, so that is why we always disclose as much information as possible. Hazel is energetic and very playful. She loves getting her treats and she sits for them and takes them very gently. We think with the right family, she could be a fantastic pet.
