About Tiny

Adoption Fee: $300
Chihuahua
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Meet sweet Tiny! She is a 7 year old Chihuahua. She is currently a little overweight at 10 pounds, but her foster mom is working on getting her at a healthy weight. Tiny came to us from a shelter in Mississippi where she was found as a stray and never claimed. She was in pretty bad shape when she came to us. Tiny not only had a hernia, one of her legs had been broken at some point in her life. Unfortunately it was left untreated and did not heal correctly. Tiny had surgery to fix the hernia and her leg was in a cast for 6 weeks, hoping it would help straighten it, but it did not help. Our vet determined that the best plan of action was to amputate her leg. Tiny has not let the fact that she only has 3 legs slow her down one bit! She has a very loving personality and is very gentle, quiet and sweet. Her favorite place to be is in her foster mom's lap. She is a little shy, but should come out of her shell once she feels safe and secure. Tiny currently sleeps in her own comfy bed in her foster family's bedroom. Tiny gets along with other dogs in her foster home. She does not pay any attention to cats and has been around kids and did well. We don't recommend a home with very small children, but she is fine with older kids. She will go outside to potty or use a puppy pad if needed. Tiny is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is heartworm positive and has started treatment. The remainder of her treatment involves a monthly dose of Ivermectin. After she completed the series of Ivermectin, she will be retested. If she is still positive, we will provide another 6 months of Ivermectin and retest again. This will continue until she tests negative. The rescue supplies the medicine and pays for the test until the heartworms are gone. Tiny is a special little girl with a lot of love to give. She has been through a hard time and is so deserving of a loving home to call her own. If you can give her that home, please submit an adoption application!
