About Lucy

Lucy is a Pit Bull mix approximately 2 years old. She is affectionate and social. She is mostly mellow with the occasional burst of energy that will send her tearing around for a few minutes. Lucy needs some training but is very easy to teach. She likes her ball and nylon bone. Lucy is very good with people. She is around children ages 8-12. She is also good with strangers. She does fairly well with other dogs (no aggression, unless food or her bone is involved but even with that, open to correction). She is a bit socially awkward with other dogs but again not aggressive. I would say her best quality is how good she is with people. She also loves to ride in the car. Lucy is an insulin dependent diabetic. She eats a special diet high in protein and nutrients. She's fed every 12 hours and receives an insulin injection every 12 hours right after she eats. Her feedings and medication IS CRUCIAL to her health. This will be a life long maintenance for Lucy. She will also require vet visits to monitor her blood sugar. Our visits were every 2 weeks, then 3 weeks now maybe every two months. She is going to be spayed and vaccinated on June 22. (Pending her blood sugar). She is a good dog with a lot of love to give. If the right person was willing to take on her medical issues, I believe their life would be blessed to have her
