Courtesy Posting: ADOPTER/FOSTER/PLEDGES NEEDED TO SAVE 2 CHOWS BEING ABANDONED BY OWNER, 1 NEEDS IMMED SURGERY- WHO CAN HELP? WILLOW & BRUCE Martinez, Nor Cal The Contra Costa shelter notified us of two chows an owner wanted to surrender them due to a move. The dogs were bought from a breeder and then left in a very small yard for the past year. Willow and Bruce are now 7 years old, not vetted or fixed (possibly used for breeding). As you can see from their picture, the poor cream girl Willow has horrible entropion in her eyes and has likely suffered great pain most her life as her eyes were constantly scratched. If not fixed, she will also go blind. She would need entropion surgery asap, and she and Bruce need to be fixed. We are trying to prevent them from being surrendered to the shelter. Chows Plus would like to save them, but they would need help with pledges for medical which is likely to be very expensive (this could be as much as $2K) for the entropion surgery alone. Please note Chows Plus has rescued so many chows and provided this necessary surgery many times with great success.
