SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TOMORROW. Hi, my name is MACY ID#A4373415 / Watch this angels video above . Please text or call Kat 516 457-3678 I am a female, spayed chocolate and white American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old, and I have been at the shelter since January 28, 2020. Please consider saving this sweet girl. Here are notes from volunteers about Macy: 1/28/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT Walks on leash. Sits on command. Struggled but allowed vaccines with light restraint. Solicited attention. 1/29/2020 EVALUATION Excited in the kennel. Nervous entrance and greeting. Very friendly with the yard lead; sought attention often. Timid but tolerant; explored the yard and primarily kept to herself. 3/4/2020 ENRICHMENT Easy pull . Reactive coming out of kennel and building. In yard pup sits for hot dogs. Sits close and enjoys touch. Tried to walk pup but she was jumping and pulling at leash so we returned to yard. Seemed to enjoy yard. Upon returning pup was nonreactive and went right into kennel. 3/13/2020 ENRICHMENT Macy is great on a leash and is a bit reactive walking past the kennels. She will jump in your lap and is very affectionate. She has a medium energy level, takes treats gently and knows sit and paw. 3/22/2020 Per volunteer Pulled for walk, was excited coming out of kennel but easy once leashed. Non reactive to other canines during pull/return. Settled quickly for loose lease walk on trail. Saw other canines out and was non reactive. Canine knows how to sit and lay down for treats. Takes very gently from volunteer. Canine does jump to solicit attention but takes correction to sit quickly. 5/13/2020 EVALUATION Aroused in the kennel; jumped up and snapped at the lock when hung on the kennel. Began jumping and biting at the leash when presented. Pushed out of kennel and began fence fighting with the neighboring dog. Allowed handler to collar without issue. Quick entrance; assertive greeting. Friendly with the yard lead. Remained over aroused; quick to initiate conflict; often fence fighting and reacting towards the other dogs. Staff only do to kennel behaviors. It is obvious that Macy is begining to show signs of kennel deterioration. This happens to all social animals eventually when they have been incarcerated for long periods of time. They need social interaction whether with other dogs or people.
