I have a Catahoula leopard dog that is six years old and has a few medical issues that require attention that I cannot provide. It has caused some acts of aggression. My parents are requiring me to either find him a new home/rescue or put him down. I am in an impossible situation. He's a good dog, he just needs someone who has the time and ability (quiet, low stress, experience) to train him and help him in ways that I can't.' Name: Daniel Age: 6 years (58#) Breed: Cataloua Sex: Male (Neutered) Location: Gwinnett County, Georgia Vet Info: UTD on vaccines. (Heartworm negative at last test but due for annual exam this Saturday. Daniel is on anxiety medication. According to Daniel's owner 'They (the vet) believe he is nearsighted. He has a hard time seeing small objects and seeing out of the corner of his eyes.' Owner Info: Daniel has been with his owner for 5 years and his owner's parents want her to find a new home for him. Daniel is noted as being an indoor dog with the run of the house. He is house broken and leash trained. He knows the following commands: Sit, Stay, Lay down, Head down and Stand (up). Daniel is described as outgoing and nervous. Good with adults, male and female dogs. Daniel also lives with 2 cats. According to his owner: ' He (Daniel) is not aggress towards them (cats) but he doesn't know how to interact with them playfully.' Daniel has shown aggression to strangers and when startled. 'He has nipped and bitten. He bit my mom and it broke the top few layers. No bleeding to my knowledge' Daniel's owner reports that Daniel adapts well to new situations and surroundings despite his visual impairment, if he is properly introduced. ' I dog sat 7 dogs and brought him with me. He was introduced and when we came back a few days later to stay the week, he was fine. Had normal hierarchy thing they had to figure out but no injuries or fights.' 'We struggled with his (Daniel's) anxiety from day one. He was very clearly neglected and abused before we received him.' 'He really needs a single person in a quiet house. He just needs more time and focus than I can give him. He's a good dog he just has moments where more patience is needed. He needs someone who can train him in ways that I can't.' Does anyone have room for Daniel? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
