About Ernie

Because we all work, it isn't always easy for us to get back to you, so you can often miss out if your application is not in when we review them.. Your application stays with us for 90 days, so if you miss out on this one keep looking, we want you to rescue a dog! We regret that we are unable to contact all applicants when a dog has been adopted or if someone has been chosen (pending). To find out, Please go to OUR website www.wowdogrescue.org Ernie was found as a stray, with another dog...yes Bert. We thought perhaps they were bonded, but after holding them, looking for the owner, and watching them closely, we feel they could be with or without each other. The shelter was able to tell us that Ernie was lost one other time and the owner was contacted, and they had neutered him at that time. They have contacted the owner this time too...but it appears that the owner who owned BOTH Bert and Ernie has moved, and had given his dogs to someone else...and he doesn't recall who...or where they lived. He is not in a position to have them back, so both boys are needing a place to call home. Ernie is a Min Pin/Chihuahua mix (most likely) He looks bigger in all the photos but he is approx. 12 lbs. and according to the previous owner he is 7 yrs old. who is very affectionate and loves to play. He enjoys long walks and running with you. He enjoys LOTS of attention and love and will snuggle with you on the couch. He is semi-potty trained, but will sometimes go number 2 inside if unsupervised Ernie does bark at humans and other dogs while out on walks, but is not a biter and mostly quiet inside. He just likes to play the tough guy. Ernie should be fine with another play mate..but not necessary. He really would like to have human companionship and cuddle time more than anything. He will also bark at guests briefly, but warms up to them very quickly. He is not a chewer or destructive in any way. Beautiful coloring with brindle in his legs/feet. Ernie is scheduled on June 10th for his Rabies shot and a microchip. He will be ready for his home then. Ernie's adoption fee is set at $240.00, UNLESS you are a senior. Then Ernie and you qualify for our Senior to Senior program. Ernie's adoption fee drops to $100. plus any shots we have in him, not to exceed $240. If you are interested in Ernie, PLEASE complete an application. Most everything we know about our dogs is in the bio..so please read it so you know what the dog is like and if it will fit your lifestyle. Once an application is received, it will go in that dog's file for review.
