About Burr

Lab mix
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Burr is a ten year old, male Labrador Retriever mix who was recently surrendered after his owner died. This poor guy is really scared right now. His whole world has turned upside down and the noise and activity of the shelter is overwhelming. Volunteers are working hard to make him feel more comfortable. Burr has already overcome some challenges in his life. He lost one of his front legs and is a tri-pod. Burr, however, is fully adapted to his disability and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. We would prefer his new home have no or few stairs to avoid putting too much strain on his joints. Burr was accustomed to being around kids, dogs, and cats in his old home. Due to his age, we feel Burr would do well in a family with older children. Burr needs time to get to know you. He isn't one to run up to you and jump in your lap. Once trust is established and he feels safe, Burr feels more comfortable showing affection. He is a mature dog that doesn't require too much exercise. Short walks will keep him fit and healthy. He does enjoy spending time outside here at the shelter and would love to have a fenced in yard of his own one day. Burr is a great dog who needs a special family to open their heart and home to him.
