About

Adoption Fee: $75
Tonkinese / Snowshoe
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Bella de Ball is a beautiful cr̬me with orange points 'colorpoint', fluffy medium hair female with icey blue eyes. She is approx. 2yr and her adoption fee is $75. She has been vetted and spayed. Bella had a family since she was a kitten, then her mom got a new partner that was allergic and said the cat had to go! SHE DIDN'T DUMP HER RESPONSIBILITES ONTO THE KILL SHELTERS, SHE MADE THE EFFORT AND GOT HELP. Bella got a new home with an adult daughter living with her mom and she adjusted nicely. Then daughter moved out of state and left Bella with the mom who didn't want her. We got her back June 4 afternoon and the first evening she sat in the cat tree and hissed when I walked by to let me know she was scared. She let me pet her and she never clawed at me. Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, they need an adjustment period so we need to be patient, loving and give them space for a few days. Some cats will hide temporarily and some cats use the defense mechanism of hissing, it is done out of fear and it's their way of telling us they are scared. My husband works quietly at his computer in the room that she is in and Bella has already up to his and rubbed all over him, still hissing a bit but again that is just her calming mechanism of choice. She has laid out on his desk and he can pick her up. She is progressing daily here at her foster home. She is doing fine with my gentle calm kitty but seems to be leary of my 4 rowdy dogs in the other room. The info below came from her original owner. Bottom line she needs somebody to give her a chance! After she has adjusted, Bella is a princess, very prissy and even a little temperamental. She is entertaining and she makes a great roommate/companion as long as you don't expect anything from her. She can be a little bossy with some adult cats but she would do well with a teenager or older kitten for a playmate. She will adjust to dogs with the right introduction. She is a typical female kitty, it's all about her. She is independent but she needs you when she wants you :) She does have a beautiful double coated rabbit fur coat and she does shed. Unfortunately, the family that returned her, shaved her so her beautiful fluff is in pictures only until it grows back. She would love an enclosed patio, Arizona room or catio, if she could get that lucky. She has a kooky side and can get really playful. She would play chase with the daughter and run down the hall with Bella on her heals then she would pounce on her feet. She also likes to stand next to the bed and go after your feet. I think I would prefer a laser light for her to get her energy out vs hunting down her family :) She is very smart and she likes to talk. If you call her most of the time she will come running. She loves lazy days and laying on you for a nap. Her favorite toys are soft ball types and she will entertain herself for hours. She loves interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. She loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. She also makes funny noises at the birds. She likes to nurse on soft blankets and will expect to share your bed. She uses walnut litter has been free fed quality hard food Purina Naturals (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of 9 Lives morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Bella de Ball FOR LIFE!
