About

Adoption Fee: $75
Bengal / Abyssinian
Age: Kitten
Sex: Female

Avana Apple is a beautiful tiny silver and black short hair female approx. 1yr. Her adoption fee is $75. She has been vetted and spayed. She is good with other nice cats, nice older kids and she LOVES nice dogs. Sadly, many people move and leave their pets behind. They are then found scavenging by the dumpsters and hopefully a nice animal loving person will save them. This is what happened to Avana who was found crying, begging for food. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, they need an adjustment period so we need to be patient, loving and give them space for a few days. It doesn't take long for her to warm up and start meowing for pets. After her adjustment period she's a very sweet and loving kitty who needs a home that can give her the attention she deserves. She is staying in a room at her rescue foster home and really wants to be out with everybody. When they go into the room, she always comes to greet them with happy meows. She likes to be picked up and is a lap cat. She loves to be pet and leans into it almost falling into your hand. Head scratches are her favorite. She will want to be where her people are. She is smart and will 'tell you' what she likes and what bothers her. As with any cat, listen to her wishes. She loves the little dog in the rescue foster home and she is always trying to rub his head or cuddle with him when he's around. She can be needy, in your face when she wants love, bumping her head into your hand or leg, whichever is closer. She is not a real player but interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys might be advantageous. She loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. She has been free fed quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of Fancy Feast morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Avana Apple FOR LIFE!
