About

Adoption Fee: $75
Bombay / Siamese
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Sawyer Swizzle aka Alex is a big handsome white with black short hair male approx. 2yr. His adoption fee is $75. He has been vetted, neutered, given a dental which removed 4 broken teeth and he tested -Leuk +FIV. He is good with other nice non aggressive cats and nice dogs or he would be fine as the only pet. He adores people including nice kids. Alex had a family that abandoned him without food, water or shelter. He made his way to a feral cat feeding station. A feeding station is where feral-wild cats are TNR'd - trapped neutered released and fed. Cats form colonies like this because irresponsible people abandon them, tossing them out like trash. They roam to find food then a loving caring concerned citizen starts feeding these starving cats forming a feeding station. They get TNR'd to prevent kittens, ear tipped so others know that these cats are fixed. The cats 'work' for us taking care of the mice, roof rats, scorpions and roaches, but they must be fixed. The 'wild' ones will survive because they are smart enough to elude predators and sick people. The 'tame' ones need to be taken in, they aren't smart. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Alex has lead a rough life in the hands of mean heartless people. He was found hurt after a new unfixed cat made his way to the feeding station and wreaked havoc on him, attacking him and leaving him with punctures wounds that have healed with the vet's attention. Alex also tested negative for Felv (leukemia) and tested a very faint positive for FIV. The vet was very surprised considering he received such a healthy summarization and had no difficulties with his neuter. If you are at all familiar with the latest information, you know a FIV positive cat can live just fine with other uninfected cats and not transmit the virus. They no longer have to be adopted into homes with only other positives. FIV + cats can live long healthy lives. This link has a lot of good information if you are concerned. http://members.petfinder.com/~PA588/FIV_Information.htm Most cat need a few days to get adjusted but Alex will go into his new home and own it. He is a very sweet and gentle big slug, kind of a baby huey type. He is smart and wants to please just like a dog so much that he sleeps in bed with the dog. He thinks petting is playtime and he can go from sleepy to rowdy if you excite him. He loves to rub up against you, he loves to talk and be talked back to in baby talk. He has a few special toys but actually everything is his favorite. He is a goof and will roll around on his back exposing his belly. He will want to be near you if not on you. You can pick him up but then he will think its playtime and want down. He loves to make biscuits on his people and he is so gentle. Beware he likes moving feet under the sheet. He will get the zoomies and run all around the house. His eyes say a lot, like they are just looking, thinking, taking everything in. He loves interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. He loves his Delectable kitty treats, Tuna Squeeze Ups and chicken stew Lickable Treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. He will expect to share your bed. He has been free fed quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) of Purina Pro Plan Indoor Care and gets up to a can of different variations of Friskies morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Sawyer Swizzle aka Alex FOR LIFE!
