About Polly

Hello my name is Polly, I found myself on death row at the Harris County TX animal shelter in Houston TX when my rescue was contacted to help me. I came into the shelter pregnant and I gave birth in the shelter and sadly all of my babies died. My rescue pulled me and I have been in a foster home in Houston waiting to find an adopter either in TX or in NC where my rescue is. My foster has been working with me and I'm a good girl over all. I do bark at human males when they stand or walk away from me. My rescue said it's probably safe to say something happened with me before I went to the shelter regarding a Male. I did okay with males at boarding so I may just be male selective but my people says I would flourish and be happy in a home with a female. Otherwise, I am house trained but I do have a doggie door where I can go outside anytime. I am dog friendly and love the water! I like to be first when it's time to hand out treats so I root my way to the front of the line. I am 3 years old, heart worm negative, on monthly preventatives, microchipped and fully vetted. My shelter paperwork says I'm a Lab/shepherd mix but everyone believes I'm a cattle dog/lab mix. I was in a foster home with small kids and I wanted to heard them up if you have ever heard of a dog doing that and didn't like them messing with me and the loud noises. My rescue said I would probably be okay in a home with middle age kids and older. I would just need to meet the family and see if I like everyone. I like to spend time outdoors laying in the shade but I also like to take afternoon naps on the sofa.
