About

Adoption Fee: $75
Bengal / Abyssinian
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Maui Meringue is a handsome cr̬me orange/tan and white short hair male approx. 1.5yr. His adoption fee is $75. He has been vetted and neutered. He seems very curious when he sees other cats and dogs but they haven't been closely introduced. We think he would adjust to them with the right introduction and a baby gate separating them at first. Maui had a family that abandoned him without food, water or shelter. He made his way to a feral cat feeding station. A feeding station is where feral-wild cats are TNR'd - trapped neutered released and fed. Cats form colonies like this because irresponsible people abandon them, tossing them out like trash. They roam to find food then a loving caring concerned citizen starts feeding these starving cats forming a feeding station. They get TNR'd to prevent kittens, ear tipped so others know that these cats are fixed. The cats 'work' for us taking care of the mice, roof rats, scorpions and roaches, but they must be fixed. The 'wild' ones will survive because they are smart enough to elude predators and sick people. The 'tame' ones need to be taken in, they aren't smart. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! When his rescue mom went out to feed, there was a new cat crying at the station. She called to him and he came running. She saw he had a huge lump on his face that had burst. She rushed him to the vet and got his wound cleaned and medicated. Maui had been attacked. Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, they need an adjustment period so we need to be patient, loving and give them space for a few days. Rescue foster mom has fallen in love with him and would keep him but her 4 dogs beg to differ. After his adjustment period Maui is just the sweetest, cuddliest boy ever. He is so thankful to have been saved and back to a safe inside environment. He loves people and will wake them up with kisses. He loves to snuggle before bedtime and he is vocal and loves to be talked to. He has no bad habits, just a perfect loving boy. He is very playful, has lots of energy and needs a 4-legged playmate to romp around the house with. He is a very funny, curious, goofy boy that will make you laugh, he is just amazing. He loves to play and can get overly excited and start to bite kick no different than a kitten. The difference is he is 5x bigger and more powerful so the idea is, instead of playing with hands, play with interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. His all-time favorite toys are hair ties, he is obsessed with them. He loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. He will expect to share your bed. He has been free fed quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of fancy feast morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Maui Meringue FOR LIFE! CNPS text 602-332-6615 email [email protected] REMEMBER WHEN YOU ARE ADOPTING A PET YOU ARE ADOPTING A FAMILY MEMBER FOR LIFE! THEY ARE NOT THROW AWAY TOYS!
