About Gamora

Adoption Fee: $100.00
Rottweiler mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Gamora is an awesome 3 year old mixed-breed pup (possibly Rottweiler/Hound). She weighs roughly 75 lbs, spayed, and is current on her shots. We feed her Iams Mini-Chunks because she eats too quickly and she loves small to medium sized Milk-Bone biscuits for her treats. We adopted Gamora as a stray from ACCT in Philadelphia during their Clear the Shelter event on 8/18/2018. Since she came in as a stray, ACCT had no information on her and we learned everything ourselves. Personality/Likes: -Very smart and quick to learn - in a few sessions I easily trained her to give 'paw', 'other paw', 'high-five', 'sit', 'stay', and recently 'lay down'. She is treat driven, and will do anything for her favorite Milk-Bone biscuit. -Extremely people friendly - but needs more training to stop nipping and jumping. -Super energetic - loves walks, runs, playing, will benefit from active lifestyle and large run area. Loves kids - but due to her size, a home with kids over 10 years old is recommended. She is great with my 19 year old son, but a bit pushy/nippy with my 6 year old son. -Totally talkative - think Husky! This is one of my favorite things about her. She will let you know vocally if she needs help with getting something or needs to go out. She can also be a tad bossy. -Crated-trained, house-trained, and LOVES car rides! -Not afraid of fireworks (but will occasionally bark at them) and is fine with thunderstorms. -Counter-surfs like a PRO and will eat ANYTHING dropped on the floor!! (we had an awful and messy experience after she ate an entire container full of brussel sprouts) -Be careful when she gets something in her mouth because she will not open it and could potentially bite. She becomes possessive. -Cautious of other dogs - unsure how to play with them, needs more socialization. Dislikes: -Not cat-friendly - will chase/stalk/stare/drool - all very predatory. - Vacuums are her enemy - she barks at it every time I use it. -Baths/Water - I wipe her down with wipes by hiding them in my palm so she thinks I am just petting her. -Dislikes going out in heavy rain (but who wants to do that anyway)! -Brush/Comb - this absolutely freaks her out for whatever reason. She will growl and try to bite the brush/comb. She may get better with practice by leaving it out for her to sniff and check out. Gamora is a wonderful pup who has so much potential to be even more amazing. Overall, I am hoping to find an equally amazing person/family to welcome Gamora into their home for her lifetime. I do not want to see her having to be re-homed again or worse back at a shelter. To prevent this from happening please ask me anything - I am an open-book! I am also hoping that her new family will be kind enough to keep in with me to ease my mind. Thank you for taking the time to ready this lengthy but important bio about my pup, Gamora.
