About Cobalt

Adoption Fee: $175
Lab / German Shepherd
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

I am one of the Color Crew Litter. More to come but my eyes opened 20 Apr 2020. Please follow my journey as I grow on the rescue's Facebook page. I am eligible for adoption approximately 4 July and applications will be accepted 15 June, not before. My mom is guessed to be a catahoula mix based on appearance but we did a DNA test for fun! Check out the Facebook page for my results! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intake Date: 19 Apr 2020 ----- est DOB: 10 Apr 2020 ----- Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog mix unknown ----- Size: mature estimated size 65 lbs ----- Status: Pound pull/owner surrender/rez dog ----- Compatible with: unknown. Will be exposed to children, cats, and other dogs as he grows ----- Suitable for: home with a securely fenced yard. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: none noted ----- Additional Notes: Cobalt was born to his mother, Violet, who appears to be a Catahoula. Father is unknown. He will be available for adoption at 12 weeks of age. We keep puppies together that long to ensure they receive adequate socializing from other dogs, with children, and cats as well. This also allows them to learn valuable skills from their mother and siblings and lessons such as bite inhibition. This time also allows them to build their immune system through vaccinations and regular deworming. Our commitment to healthy and well socialized puppies to ensure they are a wonderful addition to a family is important to us. We are more than a just a shelter and our devotion is for life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is mandatory. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Medical expenses incurred thus far: Neuter pending - $160; DHPP - $10; Rabies - $25; Deworm - $20; Microchip -$10; Total vetting = $xxx+ food, bedding etc; Adoption fee = $175; Loss = +$xxx ----- Without support, we cannot continue to rescue dogs. Unfortunately many are hesitant to pay the minimal adoption fee when dogs can be found free anywhere. What they aren't prepared for is the vetting expense required and then the animals are not fixed and the reproduction surplus continues. Sponsoring a dog's adoption fee allows us to find them a home after being fully vetted, continue intaking and vetting, and continue baby steps towards 'fixing companion animal overpopulation'. To sponsor, send your donation via PayPal at [email protected] with the name of the dog you would like to sponsor in the note! As always, we appreciate your support and cannot do this without you. You are unsung heroes!!
