About Winston

Needs ��%BD'� No Cats ��%BD'� Children 10+ (Jumpy Puppy). Winsome Winston gives you his whole heart as soon as he meets you. This handsome and affectionate 45 lb Black Mouth Cur /Shepherd Mix is a lanky kid (he's 10-12 months old) and is still very puppy in his play. He is still filling out, and is likely to be in the 50-65 lb range. If you had to think of one word to describe him, it would be fun! He is an active guy with boundless enthusiasm - he greets every day with pure wiggly joy. He adores people, loves walks, is thrilled to hop in the car for an adventure and loves other dogs. Winston can be a little enthusiastic in his dog play and the wise dog in his foster home has been helping him learn to mind his manners. Winston is a bit too interested in cats, so needs a home with no cats. Like everyone these days, Winston is home schooling and his current study plan involves learning to keep all four paws on the floor. With positive reinforcement (aka treats!) he is already making excellent progress. His enthusiasm does get the better of him at times so he would do better in a home with children who are able to redirect him. Winston is a wonderful boy who will thrive in a dog savvy home where he is given lots of mental and physical stimulation, good boundaries and unlimited amounts of TLC. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
