Adoption Fee: $50
Akita mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

A stray Akita showed up at our house about five weeks ago. Starving and thirsty, covered in ticks. It seemed very smart (knew tricks) and not aggressive towards people and cats. We live in Ada, Oklahoma. I posted on all of the Ada Area missing pets sites on Facebook. We quarantined the dog for 10 days at our vet just in case. We paid for her rabies vaccine and a flea and tick spray. The vet says she is approximately 1-1.5 years of age. We have tried to find her a home but am afraid that someone will use her as a 'kill' dog as we have been warned happens. Can you possible take her? Again, she is friendly, smart, and we just want her not to get used by others as a kill dog. We have to keep our dogs separate from her due to territorial issues. We are having to keep the Akita in a pen. She is very sweet and I hate to have her locked up any longer. We have contacted our local rescue (PAWS) several times and they are full as is the pound. We do not want her killed or used as a bait dog. I have also contacted the Akita rescue in Tulsa, OK but no word as to if they can take her. Would you be interested in helping her to be rescued? We are concerned that at some point she will get loose and be lost again.
