About PRIMA **SEE Video**

Video at the bottom..I was at East Valley shelter yesterday when I met a young man returning a very sweet dog. I asked him why he was bringing Prima back less than a week after he adopted her. He explained that Prima was playing too roughly. I asked him questions, including how much exercise she was getting, whether she was crated, what play time looked like, etc. My (layperson) diagnosis: Prima went too quickly from being under-stimulated at the shelter to being over-stimulated in the home. She was super playful and allowed to escalate to being jumpy and mouthy. Prima never had a chance to relax and decompress. As I write this, she's back in her shelter kennel. Despite the over-enthusiasm, Prima was great with the 4 year-old in the home. She is house-trained and friendly with strangers. The man said she was leash-reactive to other dogs.
