We adopted a black and tan coonhound from the humane society in March and unfortunately, we are unable to keep him. We love him to pieces, but he is too much for us. And I don't have a fenced in yard because I rent a home and cannot put one up. He needs to have a safe place to run. Any chance he gets, he slips out the door and runs away. We love near a busy road, and he has almost gotten hit by a car. I'm scared this will eventually happen. He has terrible seperation anxiety, and does not like to be left alone. He will not go in his cage when we leave, then ends up going to the bathroom in the house. Otherwise, he is house trained perfectly. He is the sweetest dog, and we love him dearly, but he needs a more suitable home with a fence so he can be safe.%A0 He is good with other dogs, but not sure about cats. My guess is probably not, and because he is a 82lb dog and fairly rambunctious, I'd say he would be best suited with another large dog, but probably better being an only dog. He strives for attention and is super loveable!! He does jump and we haven't been able to curb that bad habit yet. He loves to go on walks and run!%A0 He is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on shots, heartworm, flea and tick prevention as well. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I need to find him a new home sooner rather than later. I do not want to take him back to the humane society.
