About Kaya

Beautiful Shiba Inu. Mostly compliant and responsive to training. Has nipped at heels and bitten an adult in defense of her food/bone. Does not get along with kids. Seems fine with cats. Please provide the following information if you are interested: so we can make the best decision: - Living situation (fenced yard, other pets, other people who live in the home, children)? - Your experience with Shibas (as you may know they are unlike any other dog)? - Have you fostered or adopted before and what was that like? - Are you willing to invest time and money into further training if needed (she is off to a good start with basic commands and has improved on her manners)? - How much time are you willing and able to devote to a dog? - Is there anyone else (mom, dad, spouse, etc) that would need to be consulted and are they 100% on board? - Does anyone in your home smoke? Kaya was born 10/18. She is a purebred Shiba Inu with papers. She is current on all shots. She gets along with our other dog (border collie) fairly well. She is sometimes territorial around food, and did bite a family member who doesn't live in the home in defense of her bone. We have done a lot of training around this, and she has greatly improved. She walks with a harness very well, and knows sit, stay, come, speak, lie down, and shake. We live in Charlotte, NC and are not able to transport her. There is a $75. adoption fee.
