About Sandy

Meet pretty Sandy! She is a 3 year old, 8 pound cream colored Chihuahua mix who was found as a stray. Sandy is just the cutest little girl with lovely long deer legs. She has one of those faces that just makes you smile when she looks at you. She is cuteness personified with big dark eyes and huge ears that stand up around her delicate little face. Sandy is guaranteed to melt your heart! She is very sweet and loving, but is still a little shy. She is nervous around a new person until she feels safe, then she will want to snuggle in your lap! Sandy likes to sleep under the covers in the big bed next to her foster mom. She can be a little protective of her spot near her person and is definitely going to be very devoted to the person lucky enough to bring her home! As she is settling in to her foster home Sandy is starting to become playful, both with her foster mom and the other dogs in her foster home. She hasn't full out played with the other dogs yet, but is very interested and trying to figure it out. She does like to play and gently wrestle with her foster mom. Most of the time she is happy to just hang out on the couch with her person and observe the shenanigans in her foster home from a distance. She would be fine as an only dog or with another dog her size, preferably playful. Fast movements and loud voices scare her so she would not do well in a home with young children. She has not been around cats. Sandy is doing well with her house breaking and uses the doggy door by herself. She is underweight and we are working on trying to get some weight on her. She should not be crated, but if she needs to be contained until she gets adjusted when home alone, she would be fine being baby-gated in a room or other area. Sandy has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Sandy is a smart, sweet, curious little girl who is ready to be loved and spoiled furever! Please submit an adoption application if you would like to meet her!
