About Cowboy

Pit Bull mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Howdy partner! My name is Cowboy and I'm a young (about 1-2 yr, 54#) pitmix pup who traveled here from Tennessee. I was rescued from wandering the rural streets and brought here. Now, I've a place where I sleep in my crate without a peep, because I'm a real cowboy. This cowboy has learned to go to the door to be let outside to use the outdoor facilities. I'm getting along well with my human partners and dog partner. I'm learning to play and like to chase and fetch and tug. I especially like chewing on nylabones! I'm doing pretty well walking on a leash. At first I couldn't understand why I was tied up to a leash but I'm getting the hang of it. I really love meeting new people and dogs and cars. I especially want to meet new dogs and while walking may pull and bark and wag my tail. I'm just using my southern charm to meet new partners. I like belly rubs and sitting on laps but when I need space, I'll go to my crate or cool flooring to nap. I get excited to eat and will not turn down treats and am not aggressive. I'm a lover looking for my forever family. If y'all are looking for a cool, loving and smart cowboy, come meet me! You'll be glad you did! Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
