About Neko 'Raindeer'

Meet Neko also nicknamed 'Raindeer'. Neko is a chocolate lab mix, 1 -2 years old, that is 60 pounds of happy go lucky! He has a larger than life personality and playfulness. Neko came to us from a family that could no longer feed or medically vet him. Raindeer is house broken, crate trained and loves to play with toys. He knows some basic cues like sit, stay and bed. He is food motivated and easily trainable. Raindeer will need some additional obedience training, but he has the temperament and drive to be the best adult family dog possible. He is super affectionate, exuberant and loves attention. He loves to play tug-of-war, fetch (although at times won't return the ball so still learning) and just a happy boy! Raindeer would love a home with a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member, so he can just hang out with you. He goes in the crate fine, but doesn't particular care to be in one any long lengths of time. He would do fine with a family that works provided he can have days at doggie daycare or someone that can walk him and play mid-day if needed. Raindeer is learning not to jump up and would do best around kids that are not toddlers but kids that don't mind playing and having a buddy. Raindeer will definitely require a privacy fenced in yard to play and run around in when playing or sunbathing or hanging out with the kids for a game of fetch. He is an inside dog so cannot be left unattended in a backyard. He rides well in a car, seems to be fine on a leash accept he does pull so will require a good harness. He is not afraid of storms and he has been around cats and has done fine. Raindeer is fully medically vetted; neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, heart worm negative and on prevention plus microchipped. We would consider foster-to-adopt only if the family is a good fit.
