This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Hi! My name is Finn. I am a very intelligent five year old dog in perfect health. I am sweet, tender, and have a gentle disposition. I currently live with another female dog, one cat, and a six year old. I am very calm in the house and don't have any separation anxiety. My perfect day would include hiking, running with you, eating my favorite salmon treats, getting a belly rub, or going for a car ride. I also like to sing happy birthday and howl with sirens and blenders. I have lived in a loving home with my owners for most of my life. I am trained to sit, wait, shake, and lay down. I am also heart worm free and up to date on all my vaccinations. When I was a puppy, before my owners got me, I did not get a lot of socialization. As a result, I have a few quirks that have caused my owners to believe there is a better home out there for me. My owners are moving to the country. Its pretty exciting because there are cows, dogs off leash, and chickens really close by and all around it seems. Unfortunately, it is too exciting for me. I have an innate instinct to herd and chase large game and have escaped a couple times only to have unfortunate run ins with the neighbors live stock. I also get really really excited and can become leash reactive when I see other dogs on walks. I am getting better at this because my person has been working with me diligently, but I still need help. My impulse control can be rather low and I need an experienced owner to help me become the best dog I can possibly be. Speaking of you, these are the traits I would like to have in a new owner: -I would like you to have an active lifestyle. I would love to bike with you, run with you, and hike with you. I went on a nine mile hike once and barely even got tired. -You will need to have a secure fence because in the past I have been known to escape. -You will need to be an experienced dog owner or at the very least have a solid knowledge and curiosity about Akita's and Catahoula's -You will need to live in a low stimulus environment. -Ideally live in a home with children over 9 -You will need to provide me with the TLC I so deserve.
