#A5367596 Poor Candy is a 6-year-old tan spayed female Chihuahua who came to the Baldwin Animal Care Center on May 22nd after she was attacked by two dogs and suffered injuries to her right flank area, apparently with some skin ripped off. Her owner brought her to a vet but couldn't afford the vet bills, so this poor girl ended up at the shelter :( At least she's getting some care from an outside vet, but a shelter is no place for a dog with her injuries. Candy is not available for public adoption. Medical notes: S: PEt presents into the clinic after having been attacked by a dog. Pet was taken to PVET where she was given Convenia injection, buprenex and bandage care O:PHYSICAL EXAM Temperature- 101.5 Pulse- 180 Respiration- 16 MM- pink, CRT- 2sec Mentation- BAR BCS- 7/9 EENT- mild dental calculus Cardiovascular/Respiratory- NSF Abdomen- soft and supple Musculoskeletal- can ambulate well, just slowly Neurologic- NSF Lymph nodes- NSF Genito-urinary- tattoo noted Integument- large wound on the right lateral flank/abdomen area - a large amount of skin that is still attached at the wound is purple in color A: Attacked by Dog P: TElazol: 0.20ccIV Butorphanol (10mg/ml) 0.20cc IV ET Tube size 6.5 Vetproven (75mg) 0.5tab PO SID x 10 days Bandage change daily due to large wound.
