Kona is a 4 1/2 year old neutered male who was rescued from a shelter in southwestern Florida. Kona is very gentle and trustworthy around children. With adults he is nervous and shy and will run away to find a safe place to hide. Kona is exuberant around all dogs and plays hard. He MUST go to a home with at least one medium to high energy dog. It is with other dogs that Kona relaxes and enjoys life. The shelter said Kona is a Husky/Shepherd mix. You can definitely see both breeds, but he may have also have some greyhound in him, for he has long slim legs and runs like the wind. Kona is currently being fostered with an adult neutered male GSD, an elderly Shiba Inu mix, 2 young house cats, and several chickens. Although Kona has learned to ignore the chickens, he has the Husky high prey drive side and he loves to run after anything in the yard that moves. Kona loves to take long walks and hikes. He is content to quietly hang around his pack and enjoys lounging on the couch, looking out the window. Kona is up to date on all his shots and is in perfect health References, interview, and home check are required prior to adoption. Additional photos provided upon request.
