About Rusty

Rusty is from Selma, animal services reached out. He had been hit by a car, and no one came for him. Luckily he was cared enough about to have the leg handled. So he is now on three, and it is not slowing him down! He has a way he walks, and he limps a bit, but this is still very new. BUT, watch this boy run! Smooth as Silky Sullivan. Back straight and low, he's beautiful to watch. It's harder for him to be slow! Rusty looks to be about one year. His teeth are bright white and perfect! He feels all loose skin and acts like a puppy. His shelter ID card says about 3. But he's not. He's a heeler and I'm thinking Kelpie mix. Very sweet face! Belies his personality too. This dog is so good with other dogs! That was my unknown when he came here, but he's been nothing but Mr. Congeniality. Even Reagan, who is very discriminating, is loving him after one day here. Rusty was healing from his leg and just had a neuter so I swapped out his cone for my inflatable, but after 3 minutes with a leash dragging on the pack hike, I got rid of the leash and the airplane pillow. He got to be free! OH what a happy, grateful guy! He got to run like I don't know when he last did. He responds to his name and my coaches whistle. The universal 'Come'. Rusty was trusted and he was great! This dog loves the water! And he slides down mountains on a blanket of dead oak leaves like an otter on ice! He just knows how to have fun! Rusty is young, and has a ton of energy. He needs people with an active lifestyle. He wants to go! I haven't heard him bark. He's really cool with being in my back yard with other dogs. Quiet, content, no kennels. free feeding. It's a happy pack. And he was with every single one today, so they are now a pack.
