About Izzy

Adoption Fee: $300
Australian Cattle Dog / Chihuahua
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Update, Izzy is back! And I STILL ADORE THIS DOG! I feel someone is going to be SO fortunate to have her. In the mean time, she is fine here. She is loved! We just have to hone down the fit. Another dog or cat would be fine, but really another dog would be good. And possibly one owner? She tends to take sides! So if both owners are not equally involved with her, all bets are off! We've done this both ways. First 7 months adopted, she alienated the male in the couple. Second adoption, 6 months, she alienated the woman! They all loved her. But she is a strong willed little Chi-Heeler! And we love her! She needs balance in her life and humans willing to love and lead her equally. Her first night back in rescue, she's been reacquainted with my personal pack, and the new dogs. She's calm and right where she should be. Chewing a cow hoof on the service porch. And not in the large yard with all fosters. She is a house dog. Adjusting beautifully. But visibly bummed to have been left by her owners. We're all sad. Izzy was a totally loved dog. She just took advantage of a weak link in a couple, and ran the show! Dogs come and go here. The new dogs tend to get the spotlight, Izzy has been gone a long time, and she needs some attention! She's great. Walking on and off leash. She is a real brave little pack dog. Izzy is adorable. She gets so excited when I give her attention. It's hysterical. This one will melt you! Izzy caused quite a stir in the rescue community. Pulled from Lancaster, the day after her 'Last day' the rescue hold saved her.. Too close! Izzy, was said to be 4. She might be about 2 - 3. Her teeth told me. She is part Heeler and part Chihuahua, a Chi-Heeler. Her temperament is so cool! And she is just the sweetest. She came in flinching at any contact. Protective of her small self With lots of pets and in your face attention, she now looks for pets! She's a much more confident dog. Very excited to eat her bowl of food twice a day. I hold her, carry her and no problem putting a collar and harness on her little self. 22 lbs! It was a difficult endeavor top get her walking on a harness even. But she's done great and an old hand now. And she's hysterical \to watch run the hills like the big dogs.! Izzy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. They are right into the pack life, and I would she'd be fine as an only dog, and will forge fast bonds with respective humans.
