About Verdi

This is very hard for me to write and I've already shed tears. I have to rehome my baby. I have an 8 year old black tri who has been my baby since she was a few months old. We got her without research because my ex husband wanted an Aussie. I did not know what I was getting into. She was a typical high energy destructive puppy. She chewed the walls and knocked over trash cans. When my ex and I separated I kept Verdi (ver-die) since she bonded with me and I could care for her. Life has drastically changed since then. I have remarried and am a stepmom with a baby of my own now. Little did I know Verdi is not a small child dog. She mostly keeps to herself but is a little unpredictable and can and will growl at and snap at one of the kids if provoked. She has never bitten one but I am afraid she might. She acts this way around all children. She grew up with my cat and occasionally terrorizes her by sticking her nose in the cat's face or trying to lick her ears. She gets smacked for her troubles and doesn't care. She usually ignores other animals unless they are through a fence and then she will act like the bravest dog ever and bark her heart out. She is extremely loyal and has to bark at knocks at the door and perceived intruders. She knows her name and a few commands. She is kind of an airhead who cant see a squirrel even if point out to her, but knows if you are even thinking about making popcorn. Over the years she has grown incredibly lazy and likes to sleep a lot. She loves adults and usually wants to be nearby. I'm located near Fort Worth TX. Does anyone have the ability to add a lazy girl to their family? She has no health problems, was fixed years ago and just got her heart worm testing and shots updated two weeks ago. I have a ton of food, bowls, an outside doghouse that she hasn't used, and a kennel that can go with her. She has lived in WA, CA and TX. She loves the beach and sand and hates thunder.
