About Bessie

With those big ears and even bigger eyes, Bessie pulls you in right away. This little 12 pound girl came to SNIPSA with her day old pups. Now that they have all been adopted out, it's Bessie's time to shine. Bessie seems to have had little contact with humans before arriving to SNIPSA but her fosters are slowly helping her out of her shell. Her adopters will also need to know that it will take some time for Bessie to feel fully comfortable in her new home. She will be a flight risk for awhile as her instinct is to cower and run so a home where she cannot escape the house or backyard is needed to keep her safe. Bessie has never shown aggression but we do recommend she go to a home without small children or very active homes as she is still getting used to how friendly humans are and gets frightened by sudden movements. But we know that after getting into a routine and knowing you will always be there for her, Bessie will wiggle her way into your heart and your lap. Bessie does great with other dogs and cats too. She just needs that special family that is willing to truly help her work through being a rescue dog and finally becoming part of a family.
