About Rona

ATTENTION ADOPTION PENDING Rona is a chihuahua mix, just turning a year old and weighs about 6 lbs. She was rescued from a local shelter after having been relinquished by her owner for having too many dogs. She is initially fearful of new people and situations but once you earn her trust, you'll have a best friend for life. She should be adopted into an adult home with no young children but would probably be OK with respectful older children. She needs an owner who will give her time to adjust to a new environment. She is very active and loves to run and play chase in the yard with other dogs. She's mouthy, but not hurtful. She's quiet in the house but will bark at strangers and if outdoors. Rona loves deer antlers and busy bones, she's quite the cuddler as well but is comfortable sleeping in her own bed. She can walk on a harness and leash but will wander and spin a bit, so some leash training will benefit both her and owner, as well as being a great trust building exercise. She is fixed, micro chipped and recently had a dental check. She's completely trained to poop outdoors but will use pee pads if that is your situation. She would love a home with a fenced yard but would be fine in an apartment if you're committed to several daily walks. She does not need her person to be home all day but does require lots of attention and love.
