About Scout

Adoption Fee: $300
Pit Bull mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Scout (45 pounds, ~ 6 years old) is available for adoption and being fostered in Tampa, FL (Hillsborough County). He is lovingly nicknamed Frankenpuppy by his foster parents because he is the perfect amalgamation of spare parts - he has the blocky head of a pit bull, the big ears of a rabbit, the mohawk of a Rhodesian ridgeback, the body of a potato, and a sixth toe. The two most important things in Scout's life are food and cuddles. He is a very hungry boy (despite being well-fed) and loves to snack on frozen Kongs. If you are late for dinner, he will very respectfully let you know by bringing you his food bowl and dropping it loudly beside you. He is an A+ cuddler and his favorite spot in the world is upside down on the couch getting a belly rub - preferably sandwiched between two people for double the attention. He can be dog selective at times, but with proper socialization and training can likely be improved. He immediately loves all people (especially people with snacks). Scout came to Ewenity heartworm positive, and unfortunately, it had progressed far enough to leave some permanent damage to his heart. However, this doesn't slow him down at all (likely because he never moved very fast to begin with), and he is on track to be heartworm free by the end of May. While he enjoys walks, he much prefers to snuggle on the couch or bake in the sun. He's a low-key guy looking for a low-key family that will provide timely meals and endless snuggles. In return, he will gift you with gentle face licks, loud snoring, and a lifetime of love. All information about the rescue and adoption can be found at: ewenityfarmsbch.com.
