About Stella

Guess who is finally available for adoption!!!! THIS GIRL!! Meet our most beautiful senior girl Stella! This beauty is an 8 year old cane Corso who we pulled out of the Newark shelter. She weights approx 90lbs. This sweet girl had a long recovery as she had multiple medical issues when we got her. She had a bad case of pneumonia and a really terrible skin infection. She also has severe arthritis in her hips and she was in alot of pain. Her hips are still an issue but she is being managed with meds and supplements. She gets her dental and spay next week and then she will be ready. She is finally all healed up and ready to find her forever home! Stella is very friendly and loves people. She is very mellow and loves to lounge around the house or lay outside catching rays. She loves to lay on her back and roll in the grass and go for short leisurely walks. She also never turns down a good belly rub and on her good days will even play with some toys. She likes other dogs and doesn't mind kitties either. Although she is good with kids we feel due to her age and medical issues we feel older children would be best. She would make a great companion for a quite home with people who will love her forever. Due to Stella's age and history she does have some minor medical that will need to be kept up on. She is currently taking galapran which is a pain med and she will have to stay on that for her arthritis. It is expensive and costs about $200 a month. She also needs to stay on her supplements Dasaquin Advanced which a 3 month supply is about $80 dollars. It is important she stays on these as when we got her she could barely walk. Now she can play and run even a little. She may also have allergies and need cytopoint injections once every 6 weeks, we are still trying to figure this one out, due to the skin infections it is hard to be sure. She does also need her eyes wiped once to twice a day. We are looking for a home for her with little or no stairs and no young children.
