About Tank

Tank is an approximately 4 1/2 yo, 60 lb bully mix. He was adopted but is looking for a new home. His family loves him but they are not able to provide him with the structure and guidance he needs to succeed in their home. Tank has become protective of his home and does not do well with strangers visiting. Since his current family does not have the time to invest in his training, or willingness for all of them to provide leadership, he's running the household. What Tank needs is someone who can be his leader, who understands that he needs to be crate trained, cannot be allowed to sleep on the bed or couch (at least until his behavior improves), and work with him on a 'place' command where he practices his 'stay' and calm behavior. Tank is an awesome dog, and we loved him while he was with us. He's happy, spunky, and fun. He is a low to medium energy dog who loves to snuggle. He does awesome in the car. He walks well on leash with a training tool. He does extremely well in his crate, He is completely potty trained, and is not a barker or whiner. He does well with other friendly large dogs and gets excited when seeing them. If cohabitating with another dog he should go to a home with a female submissive dog. Tank has some allergies but they're being managed with good food and a supplement. Tank is an absolute hoot, with the cutest squishy face and most adorable wiggle butt and will make a fantastic companion for someone that understands dog behavior and can work with him on his protectiveness.
