About Ruffles

Miniature Pinscher
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Ruffles came to us about a year ago, he was found wandering the streets and in rough condition. He is approximately two years old, is now in very good health, has been neutered, chipped, and is up to date on shots. We are looking to rehome Ruffles because he has started displaying some behavior traits that are incompatible with our family. Ruffles has never trusted me, he keeps his distance and doesn't let me near him unless I am holding a piece of bacon for him and then he is still cautious. I was fine with that, I figured an adult male must have caused him pain and suffering before he came to us. He is good with my wife, three daughters and one son. He is not good with other children though. He chased a neighbor child playing basketball and has twice nipped at other children trying to enter my house with my kids. He is territorial and protective, this is not the ideal situation for a house with kids who have friends over. We feel like he needs to be on a farm or ranch where he can run and has lots of space so he might not feel so protective of his area. He loves to play with other dogs, especially rough housing with the German Shepherd who is four times as big as Ruffles. He is a sweet dog and needs a better situation for his forever home.
