About Shadow

Shadow is a handsome 5 year old, 13.8 Shih Tzu mix who was surrendered to us by his elderly mom who wasn't able to keep taking care of him. He is very sweet, friendly, and eager to please with his person. Shadow lives up to his name and will follow you around the house and hang out near you. His foster mom often finds him lying on the floor next to her. Once he gets comfortable he will probably want to get in your lap for cuddles. Shadow prefers sleeping in the big bed at night, but might take a minute to adjust to a new home. Until then he may just chill in a doggy bed. He is potty trained, but like some dogs may mark a little at first, especially if there are or have been male dogs in the house. He does not walk on a leash well yet, so we are requiring a fenced yard to give him a safe place to run and play. While Shadow is good with people, he has a tendency to fight with other dogs and needs to be an only dog. He has not been kid or cat tested and we aren't sure how he would be with either. We think he would be ok with older kids (12 and up) but younger kids are a no. Shadow is up to date on his shots, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Overall Shadow is a good boy who would love to meet his new person soon! If you are looking for a furry companion and can give him time to settle and relax with you, you won't be disappointed in this sweet boy!
