About Rose

Treeing Walker Coonhound mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Treeing Walker Coonhound around eight years old. The vet said he didn't think she was a purebred but don't know what else she could be mixed with. Great family dog who loves small children and babies. The gentlest dog you will ever meet. Takes food very gently and will stand two feet away from food bowl until you step away from it and then approach it. Won't get on the bed and will only get on the couch in the spot that you let her. She got lost from her original owners almost four years ago and has been with a rescue organization in an outside kennel ever since. She ran away and that's how we got her.LOL Would keep her but do not have a back yard and live in small home with one dog already. But it is very apparent that she was a trained hunting dog that grew up with small children. She will let a little girl dress her up,paint her toe nails and will not leave the child's side. Because she can cover a lot of distance in a short time and because of her age she needs a fenced-in backyard. She is an inside dog and is very well-mannered. She does have severe PTSD when it comes to thunderstorms but calms with love and hugs. She loves other animals but she is an old lady. Would love for her to be the only dog because she deserves the attention. She does love to play a little and loves her rawhides. She loves people and would do better in a home with a child or with a Senior Citizen. She would make a great companion. She sleeps a lot and is very low maintenance. Must be willing to go through a vetting process.
